Zeus in the form of an eagle observes Semele bathing.

Zeus began an affair with Semele, the youngest daughter of Cadmus and Harmonia. Semele was a priestess of Zeus, and the king of the gods fell in love with her upon seeing her bathing in the Asopus River after sacrificing a bull.
