Hello from Greece! I'm at an internet cafe on the isle of Rhodes where I just updated the lasted comic
dionysus11. Progress has been slow so far, but I promise it'll pick up soon. I plan to devote a good portion of the summer to Mythologia Illustrata.
On the downside, comments are still not working and the promised notes page has fallen by the wayside, but I plan to have both these injustices addressed in the next month. Check back soon, new updates are forthcoming.

Actaeon

So the story of Cadmus is finished (for now at least) and
Actaeon's story is beginning. The character index has also been updated and revised (Autonoë's name now consistently has diaeresis throughout). Comments are still not working, but I'll try to change that soon.
The footnotes page which I've been working on should be ready in the next couple of days. Unfortunately every single time I work on the page I keep finding more things that need to be footnoted. So the more work I do, the more work it seems that I have to do. So it goes. I'll try to have it posted later this week however complete it may be.
The next panel in the Actaeon series should be posted by Wednesday. Keep checking back often, the updates are going to keep coming quickly!

New Button Added!

Alright! The site is now shaping up quite nicely. I've added a link at the top of the page to the newest comic (which is currently
Cadmus14) and Google Ads should also be working now. Everything is going smoothly.
Cadmus14 was incidentally one of my favorite comics to draw. Battle scenes are very demanding, but also rewarding. There's definitely a love-hate relationship there. The coloring was particularly difficult, but obviously I'd better learn to like it. I'm planning on keeping this up and it's not like this will be the last battle scene I'll have to draw!

The newest panel (
cadmus11) is up and changes have been made to the character index. Pretty soon I'll have to split the character index into alphabetized sections, it's already becoming pretty unwieldy at it's current length. Maybe I'll tackle that later today or tomorrow.
Sorry about the fact that comments still aren't working. Hopefully I'll get that fixed soon; in the meantime keep checking back for more updates!

Six Comics Now Posted

I've now gotten the first half-dozen of comic posted (
Cadmus1 through
Cadmus6) and the site is rolling along smoothly. The homepage should now have a consistent look in Internet Explorer, Safari, and Firefox.
I've applied for Google Ads, so hopefully once traffic for this site picks up and cash starts rolling in I can quit the day job, fill up a swimming pool with moolah, and swim around in money like Scrooge McDuck (hah!)
I've still yet to figure out a regular schedule for updates yet, but as soon as I do I'll probably add a link at the top of the page for the newest comic. Until then we can expect this site to be updated at least 5 times a week. Keep checking back!

Welcome to the new homepage of Mythologia Illustrata! This page began its life in February 2008 hosted on
www.abbothenderson.com and was taken down late the same year. It moved to its new home in February 2009 after a hiatus of a couple of months. This website can be accessed either through
www.mythologiaillustrata.com or
www.illustratedmythology.com.
The goal of this site is to (eventually) offer a complete illustrated telling of the Greek and Roman myths. We will start with the House of Thebes starting with Cadmus and move forward from there. New material will be added several times a week until a regular routine is established.
